By Hajira Asif

Hazrat Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni was born in 1261 hijri( Islamic Year) in a village Dargah Humayun Sharif district Shikarpur, he was a well known scholar of hindo sindh. Hazrat Abdul Ghafoor got his earlier education from his father Hazrat Muhammad Yaqoob (Rehmatullah Illahe) who was also a well known Islamic scholar of his time. He was 12 years old when his father died. After his father death he got his later education from Sultan Mehmud Saitpuri who was a student of his father. Later he arranged Turban Ceremony (Dastar Bandi) for him. Fiqa wise he was a sunni hanafia.

Great Islamic Scholar
Hazarat Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni was among the great Islamic Scholars and wrote so many books such as Saif e Humayun, Fatwae Humayuni, Aldarulmansur fee rad munkaril Astamdad Man Ashabil Qubur, Deewane Maftoon and so many other books. He was also known as a traditional healer (Tabib) and had command over knowledge of medicine.

Hazarat Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni had command over Sindhi, Farsi (Persian) and Arabic and used to teach these languages. Besides that he was great poet as well and the book of his poetry is known as Dewane Maftoon which I mentioned earlier.

Here I am going to mention his very famous sindhi poetry.

Tuhnje Zulf Je Band Kamanda Widha, Zindan Hazarain Maa Na Rogo
Tuhnje Shahi Dastar Khwan Mathe, Mehman Hazarain Maa Na Rogo
Tuhnje Jalwa Jamal Je Ishwagiri, Kaya Mulka Mutiya Wasiya Wari

Aye Maha Laka Mehbooba Mitha, Tuhnje Nazo Ada Tan Jana Fida

Kaye Ghayal Tuhnje Ghoora Sanda, Makhmur Ghafoora Saroora Sanda
Tuhnje Noora Maoora Zahoora Sanda, Nigrana Hazarain Maa Na Rogo

This is also sung by Abida Parveen.

As he was a great Islamic Scholar people used to come to take his opinion over several matters, his opinion got priority over several opinions by different mufti.

An Incidence: Once Hazarat Abdul Yaqoob Rehmatullah Illahe was busy in Dars (teaching lessons), Suddenly he stood up and went his home, however he used to not to go anywhere during dars. When somebody asked the reason he said Hazrat Abdul Ghafoor was not feeling well and his mother was recalling  Ghos e Pak Hazarat Abdul Qadir Jilani Razi Allah Tala Anho, and he came so I went to welcome him.

Karamat of Hazarat Abdual Ghafoor Rehmatullah Illahe

It was famous about Hazarat Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni Rehmatullah Illahe that he was seen by many people while doing Iqamat in Masjide Nabvi while physically he was present in Humayun Sharif.

Once he was taking a step forward and than a step backward when his mother asked him what he was doing, he said I have heard that this earth is 2.5 steps for Wali but mother when I’m going a step forward I am unable to find a place for a seconed step.

Discussion With Ubaidullah Sindhi

Once Ubbaidullah Sindhi came along with many people who belonged to him, for the sake of discussion over the Reality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on the day of Friday.
Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni was giving him several logics during the discussion, the discussion was too long that the time of Juma Namaz came. He asked Ubbaidullah to offer Juma Namaz  he said I will offer Juma Namaz when you will offer, till than the time of Jumma Namaz passed off, when people came back after offering the Namaz Ubaidullah asked them who did the iqamat all said Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni. He was shocked and looked at Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni than he said when you are unable to see the reality of mine who is a Ghulam of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, how would know the reality of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Hazrat Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni used to cover his right hand with a piece of cloth, because it is famous that he shake hand with Prophet Muhammad PBUH physically.
Once a person objected and said to Hazrat Humayuni that why do you hasitate to shake your hand with people don’t you think it is immoral. In the answer of his question he gave him a handkerchief when the person took it and looked at his surrounding he was surprised to see that people were converted into animals. And when he gave it back everyone came into its original form.

Hazral Abdul Ghafoor Humayuni Rehmatullah Illahe had no son, so after his death his grandson ( Daughter Son) Hazrat Abdul Baqi Rehmatullah Illahe got his dastar mubarak.

Death of Hazrat Abdul Ghafoor Rehmatullah Illahe
Hazrat Abdula Ghafoor Humayuni Rehmatullah Illahe died on 11 Ramdan 1336 hijri(Islamic Year) as Qulo Nafsun Zaiqatu Maut.

Murree the Hill Station

The most developed and most popular of Pakistan’s hill stations, Murree (7,500 feet height), is at an hour drive from Islamabad along a good quality, winding alpine road. The scenery is superb, the climate cool in summer and crispy cold winter, the hotels are good and drive easy.

When the British annexed the Punjab in 1849, they soon decided to establish a hill station at Murree as it was conveniently located near the important military cantonment of Rawalpindi. It was actually found in 1851 on pastureland of a ridge and developed quickly.

Today Murree is Punjab’s leading hill resort and very crowded in summer. The long summer days are ideal for lazy strolls or riding ponies along shady path on the Mall – Kashmir and Pindi points.

There are the Gallies with their charming red roof chalets, covered with snow in winter and set amidst fragrant pines. Murre a jewel of a hill station, nestles in the shadow of snow-clad peaks.

Looking for a Beautiful Daughter in law for a Ugly Looking Son?

Another tradition of our country is that, when a family looking for a daughter in law for them, they go to the several houses where they can find beautiful girls for their ugly looking sons. They want tall, fair and slim girl for them no matter how ugly looking son they have. The way girls are being presented in front of them is quite ridiculous.

Sometimes she is being interviewed if she can be a great cook, dhoban(laundress) and other services that she may offer. And most of the families find it as a hobby, they go to see girls houses pretending to see a daughter in law and are being served with so many food items, next day they go to see another girl.

When some people came to see me, it was a great experience for me I enjoyed it thoroughly. The lady who was supposed to be my mother-in-law was a huge lady.

I had no idea what to say, all I knew was I have to give an interview, so I gave it as if it was a job interview. I tried to be more confident but later I realized confident girls are being rejected often by these kind of families as they can be a bigger threat for them in future.

Obviously I felt bad when no response came from them for a long time. But I realized I was too good for them. My request to the girls who has to go through this phase is that please don’t be dishearted and be confident enough.
